STARTECH Program for Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland

Startech has announced a new styling and performance package for the facelifted Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK).

This particular Overland model is outfitted with a new front spoiler (with LED daytime running lights), a revised rear apron, and attractive side sills with integrated LED lighting. Other touches include a stainless-steel sport exhaust system, a suspension lowering kit (reduces ride height by 30mm / 1.2 inches), and 22-inch Monostar IV wheels equipped with Pirelli Scorpion tires.

Inside, Startech offers a vast array of accessories including everything "from a speedometer bezel with brushed aluminum design to aluminum pedals and door-lock pins to polished stainless-steel scuff plates with (an) illuminated Startech logo." Customers can also order a customized interior with leather and alcantara upholstery.

If you think the 3.0-liter CRD engine could use a performance boost, you might want to check out Startech's SD6 tuning kit. It enables the turbodiesel engine to produce 262 hp (259 bhp) and 580 Nm (427 lb-ft) of torque, instead of 218 hp (214 bhp) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque.

As you may recall, the facelifted Jeep Grand Cherokee was introduced in 2007 and the redesigned 2011 model goes on sale next year.

edo competition Enzo XX Evolution with 840hp

It was less than two months ago that Edo Competition revealed the Enzo XX to an unsuspecting public. The tuner has now gone back to the same car and made improvements. How does one improve on 800hp? Can one? Apparently yes.

Meet the new edo Enzo XX Evolution, the next step in the process. Power is up and weight is down, a sure recipe for good performance numbers. By increasing the Enzo's 6.0-litre V12 cubic capacity to 6.3-litre, installing new camshafts, modified cylinder heads, titanium valve spring retainers and connecting rods, high flow catalytic converters, mufflers and air filters and new high performance exhaust headers edo did just this.

A lot more was done like improving the transmission's shift times to 60 milliseconds - 20 milliseconds less than an F1 car and using lighter drive shafts.

In the end 100kg (220 lbs) was shed and extra horses were brought into the stable. Now the car makes 618kW (840hp) and maximum torque of (575 ft-lb) is available at 5,800rpm. Moreover removing the muffler frees an extra 20 horses (15kW).

Performance figures are 0 - 100km/h in 3.2 seconds, 200km/h (124mph) in 9 seconds and 300km/h in 19 seconds. Top speed is said to go beyond the 390km/h (242mph) point thus presenting a real challenge to the 407km/h recorded by the Veyron under the skilled tutelage of one James May.

Exterior changes include a new retractable rear wing, new LED taillights and a new rear skirt with winglets.

Edo Competition will throw in a test day with an instructor and full hospitality package for those who choose to convert their prized Enzos.

Brabus E V12

Brabus has unveiled the limited edition E V12 sedan.

Based on the new 2010 Mercedes E-Class W 212, the E V12 features a 6.0-liter V12 biturbo bored out to 6.3-liters producing 800 hp and 1420 Nm of torque (it's electronically limited to 1,100 Nm). While details are limited, Brabus outfitted the engine with a ram-air system, a quad-exhaust, and revised engine electronics.

To keep the beast under control, the company added a fully adjustable sports suspension, new stabilizers, a high performance braking system, and black 19-inch alloy wheels outfitted with 255/35 (front) and 285/35 (rear) tires.

In terms of styling, Brabus made major modifications to improve aerodynamics, engine ventilation, and brake cooling. Changes include a revised front bumper, new front quarter panels, aggressive side sills, and rear wheel covers. Out back, the car features a trunk-mounted spoiler and a carbon fiber rear diffuser.

Thanks to all these tweaks, the E V12 rockets from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds, 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.9 seconds, and 0-300 km/h (186 mph) in 23.9 seconds. If you keep your foot planted, the car will eventually top out at an electronically limited 350 km/h (217 mph). Without the limiter, Brabus estimates the car can hit a top speed in excess of 370 km/h (230 mph). Fuel consumption is rated at 15.7L/100km (15 mpg), while CO2 emissions are 372 g/km.

Inside, the car features black leather upholstery, an Alcantara headliner, carbon fiber trim, and a 400 km/h (249 mph) speedometer.

Production will be limited to ten units, and prices start at €600,000 ($875,000 USD)

Porsche Panamera Stingray by Russia's TopCar

Russian tuner TopCar has released the first images of their rendition of the Porsche Panamera.

No details were released alongside the images (which clearly have been Photoshop-ed), so any conclusions must be drawn from what we see here.

The bodykit on the Panamera is called the Stingray and was designed by another Russian firm Cardi. The naming may lead one to question what, if any, reference there is to the old Corvette Stingray design here.

What we do see is an aerodynamic package made of carbon fiber with newly designed bumpers, air intakes on the bonnet, the addition of side skirts, and a fixed rear wing. A set of alloy wheels is also part of the tuning package.

The Russian tuner says it is also working on a more extreme Panamera that replaces all body panels with their own kit. TopCar claims it will be partnering with Porsche tuner 9ff to provide for the performance upgrades of their Panamera, as well as doing the work of actually producing the bodykits.

No details on performance enhancements have yet been released.
