Audi TT Coupe from PPI

Audi’s TT was a styling sensation when it hit the market a decade ago, and though Audi has kept it up-to-date, tuners are still finding new ways to give it a fresh look. PPI’s take on the TT isn’t their first attempt, but this most recent edition, the PS TT Coupe, adds some new tricks to the repertoire.

Focusing on aerodynamics, the PPI PS TT Coupe adds a custom front, side and rear treatment that purport to improve airflow to cooling inlets while also aiding flow under the car and around the axles. A quad-tip exhaust, custom wheels and carbon fiber accents add to the sleek look of the custom car, but all pieces, including the downforce-producing rear spoiler, are intended to also be functional.
The 2.0L TFSI engine gets some upgrades too, including a bump to 245hp (180kW) and 366Nm torque, putting the smaller engine’s power on par with the stock 3.2L VR6 engine offered in the Audi TT quattro, though still somewhat short of the 272hp (200kW) engine shown in the Audi TTS At Detroit earlier this year.
Suspension upgrades include larger 19″ wheels, wide Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires and a 30mm lowering kit. Bigger discs and a multi-piston caliper upgrade are in the works, but not yet available. The interior gets some PPI-branded bits like a new sports steering wheel, and a range of option from carbon fiber to walnut for the surface materials.

Edo Competition Maserati MC12

No stranger to tuning the MC12, Edo has already previously built custom versions of the Maserati supercar, including the MC12 Corsa. Packing 700hp-plus in every edition, the Edo MC12s are all at least 70hp ahead of the stock MC12 thanks to some tweaks borrowed from the Ferrari FXX. This latest MC12 by Edo adds a new rear spoiler and new sport clutch to the mix, making the car even easier to drive well.

A screaming performer from the factory, the Maserati MC12 is based on the same chassis as the Ferrari Enzo, though the MC12 is more luxurious, heavier and larger than the prancing horse version. The standard car’s 206mph (330km/h) top speed falls 20km/h short of the smaller and lighter Enzo’s, but the Edo-tuned version reverses that scenario, bumping the MC12 25mph (40km/h) to 231mph (370km/h) top speed. Acceleration is brutal, with 62mph (100km/h) taking just 3.5s from a standstill, 124mph (200km/h) comes in 9.5s and 186mph (300km/h) in 22.0s from a dead stop.
The 70hp jump over the stock MC12 comes thanks to new intake plumbing modeled on that of the Ferrari FXX and a revised exhaust system. In addition to adding performance fare like ceramic composite brakes and carbon fiber air scoops, the Edo MC12 shaves 220lb (100kg) from the originals mass, bringing it closer to its higher-performance cousin the Enzo.
A new sport clutch makes for easier engagement, and a new adjustable rear spoiler means the lucky owner can tune for downforce or top speed as the situation demands. A new transmission control makes for shift times as quick as the MC12 Corsa, the 755hp, 12-examples-made version of the car that was built as a homologation special for the FIA GT1 world championship.

G-Power M6 Convertible

Earlier this week we saw what the wild tuners in Lithuania can do to a BMW 6-series coupe, and love it or hate it, it was an extreme interpretation. The Germans at G-Power have also turned their creative arts on a 6-series offering, this time the M6 convertible. Thankfully devoid of cartoonish excess, the car nevertheless brings an almost unthinkable 635hp to the table, thanks to the company’s twin-supercharger kit.

Mounted to the already fearsome 507hp (373kW) BMW V10, G-Power boosts output by another 128hp (94kW) to reach the stratospheric 635hp (467kW) target, placing the M6 among the most powerful convertibles in the world. The unique belt-driven superchargers each handle one cylinder bank, enabling efficiency ratings of up to 80%. The same system fitted to the G-Power M5 Hurricane brings the sedan’s essentially identical engine to 730hp (544kW), and powers the car to the record for highest top speed achieved by a street-legal BMW at 223mph (360km/h). Though slightly detuned in the M6 application, the smaller car requires less horsepower to achieve extreme performance, although it still delivers some impressive figures on the dyno. Between 7.500rpm and 8,200rpm the screaming V10 delivers the full 635hp claimed at from 4,800rpm to 7,200rpm torque is climbing from 520Nm to the 600Nm peak. This kind of power lets the M6 rip to 100km/h in just 4.6s and to 200km/h in 11.9s, despite its stout 2 ton weight. With enough room to let it run, the M6 can break through 300km/h in 34.5s from a standstill, and carry on to a top speed of 320km/h.
Some of the changes G-Power makes to the standard M6 to allow this kind of performance include improved aerodynamics, grippier tires, more track-worthy suspension and fade-resistant, more powerful brakes. Huge 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/30 Z-rated Dunlop tires up front and 295/25 rubber out back keep the car firmly planted - an important part of the equation with so much power to the rear wheels. The up-sized eight-piston calipers grab onto 380×34mm discs for strong and repeatable stops, while an adjustable G-Power coilover system gives the driver nine settings to choose from.
If you have an extra M6 lying around, you can send it to G-Power for the conversion, or just buy a fully-converted car complete directly from the tuner company. This kind of power doesn’t come cheap, though: the price for a fully-converted car starts at €183,000.

VW Golf GTI Performance

W hasn't released any info on the car you see here, which is called the Golf GTI Performance design study, so we'll call it like we see it. A black-and-copper checkered flag motif adorns the hatch, which is enhanced with a widebody kit, lowered suspension, and the expected wheel/tire upgrade. Out back, the GTI's rear bumper cover is covered with more grillework than you'll find on the rump of a Lamborghini Gallardo. A pair of giant exhaust outlet cutouts are also built into the corners. And speaking of Lamborghinis, VW has fitted the Golf GTI Performance with the dreaded "Lambo doors," which look predictably ridiculous here. The exterior color scheme carries through to the passenger cabin, which gets a 2+1 sport seating arrangement and what appears to be a substantial audio system install. Not our cup 'o tea, but it'll probably go over very well with the VW tuners who take part in the WörtherSEMA... er.. Wörthersee Tour.

IMSA Lamborghini Murcielago GTR

The brand new imsa technical and aerodynamic-enhancement program for the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.

Imsa, the world-acclaimed, German High-Tech Engineering specialist, exclusively presents, after successfully introducing the stunning imsa GTV Supercar based on all versions of the Lamborghini Gallardo, its new technology and design-enhancement program for Lamborghini’s current top-of-the-range supercar, the Murcielago LP640.

Special emphasis must be laid on the technology- and design-package made from Autoklav moulded carbon fibre. Technology which is normally only being used in Formula 1 and other Top-motorsports Series. Imsa’s main target was, for all owners of the Lamborghini top-of-the-range-model, to offer an exclusive product line, transforming the Murcielago both technically and optically into a unique work of art, with the aim of significantly enhancing the exclusivity of Lamborghini’s Top-model.

The strikingly aggressive and aerodynamically highly effective front apron (spoiler) perfectly aligned to the wheel arches (widened 35mm on each side), directly becomes apparent. On the upper side of the wheel arches, imsa CFK air ducts have been integrated, resulting in a significant reduction of the drag effect caused by non-aerodynamic airflow at higher and highest velocity. The imsa side-skirts on the underside guarantee the optimum airflow to the imsa diffuser, which has been developed for an aerodynamically perfect interaction with the imsa rear spoiler. Imsa herewith achieved to considerably lower the downforce at higher and highest speeds. The benefits for the driver are a significant enhancement of driving stability, safety and enjoyment.

All parts of the imsa-aerodynamic-enhancement program are either available in carbon-onsight or can be painted in any colour of choice. The imsa aerodynamic-enhancement-program is available from November 2007 on and will soon be available for the “standard” Murcielago as well. The imsa technical enhancement program also includes – exactly as for the imsa GTV Supercar based on the Lamborghini Gallardo – exclusive imsa multi-part sports wheels with central locking system, various sports chassis with individual settings, and, last but not least, various imsa engine modifications and own engines. At imsa, each customer is fully involved in the creation of his personal, unique imsa-Megacar handcrafted according to highest German standards of quality and precision. Additionally, personalised tailor-made interiors inclusive of various multi-media applications are also being fitted on special request.

Gemballa Avalanche 600 GT2 EVO.

We've already sampled the mind-blowing power of the 997 Porsche GT2, but for Gemballa, it's never enough. The German tuning firm is offering a new kit for both the GT2 and its all-wheel-drive sibling, the Porsche Turbo, in the form of the Avalanche 600 EVO. As it's name would imply, Gemballa has coaxed 600 hp (not to mention 619 lb.-ft. of torque) from Porsche's turbocharged flat-six through the use of a new intercooler, race exhaust and a retuned ECU. The dash to 62 mph is dispatched in 3.5 seconds and the top speed has been increased to 199 mph.

To compliment the 911's newfound power, Gemball has fitted its Avalanche body kit, which includes a new hood, front spoiler and bumper, EVO wing and a host of air inlets and outlets. The stock suspension has been pulled in favor of a coilover setup hidden behind 405 mm front and 380 mm rear discs and Gemballa "Racing Black Edition" wheels sized 20x9-inches in front and 20x11.5-inches out back. Aluminum pedals and door plates are available to spruce up the interior, along with leather, carbon and alacantara trim, new carpet and a 340 mm steering wheel with optional "F1" paddle shifters. For interested in being corrupted by absolute power, we've posted the press release after the jump.

AC Schnitzer Mini Cooper S Clubman

The name "MINI“ says it all: Physically, the Clubman is not one of the biggest out there, but it's got a bigger heart than any other estate. And now AC Schnitzer provides that final endorphin surge. With its new front spoiler, giving it a harder look than standard, the Cooper S Clubman doesn't just catch the eye but demands respect. In terms of driving dynamics, the agile cornering master shouldn't be underestimated. Especially not when fitted with the AC Schnitzer spring kit or even the height-adjustable racing suspension made in Aachen. The subtle lowering flatters the well-honed figure of the Clubman. The bonnet with its striking power dome hides real muscle. After the AC Schnitzer
performance training, the Cooper S develops 226 HP/ 166 kW and a torque of up to 285 Nm.
Gas and away! But with spirited driving, don't forget: secure your load first!
An optional limited slip differential (up to maximum 75 percent) developed by the renowned BMW tuning house ensures that the raw engine power is always applied to the right wheel when cornering and not lost through the exhaust. Even the exhaust gas flow plays a dual role of utility and aesthetics: Not only does it drive the turbo, but the AC Schnitzer twin sports rear silencer plays an almost orchestral note. The musical masterpiece with its chromed tailpipes is also a top level eyecatcher. Like the perfectly styled alloy wheels specially designed for the MINI in Aachen. Variants available are the Bicolor wheel Mi2 in 7.5 x18" and the Mi1 in the classic AC Schnitzer look in 7.5 x 17". And naturally the passionate MINI fan wants the right accessories in the interior too. Like the attractive controls and sports pedals aluminium

AC Schnitzer BMW 1-Series Convertible

Viewed from its roof construction, the new 1-series Cabrio is a classic softy. But under its soft shell lurks a hard masculine cornering machine which isn't pushed aside by anyone: especially in the AC Schnitzer version. As honed as a high performance athlete, the car cuts a fine figure even in the car park. The Aachen-based BMW-tuners have transplanted the muscles visually to the right places. In the end, the vehicle is an agile sprinter and not a bodybuilder who can scarcely move for power. At first glance, the new front skirt strikes you - it is less rounded than standard and runs into a slight taper. This, in combination with the diagonal grille insert, ensures a far more dynamic appearance. And naturally the Cabriolet not only has a neat front, but also a strong rear: The AC Schnitzer rear skirt lip or insert (for M-Technik version) provides an extra cross contour in comparison with the original, and hence a more "powerful" look. Underneath, a diffuser element highlights the sporting heritage of the vehicle. The final touch is given by the chromed tailpipe trim in "Racing" design, available for the 118i, 120i, 125i, 120d and 123d.

The fact that the sporting appearance is more than just Show & Shine becomes evident to the driver from a glance in the rearview mirror. Because the car behind grows smaller at record speed when you put your foot to the floor. In both petrol and diesel engine variants, the Aachen tuners inject any amount of power into the compact cabrio. Extra horsepower is available for the 135i, 120d and 123d. And because the standard speedo is sometimes overloaded with so much "unbridled" power, AC Schnitzer upgrades it to 320 km/h.

2008 Hamann Sportivo Fiat 500

HAMANN-Motorsport is renowned as a tuning company for BMW and for refining sinfully expensive luxury cars. But sometimes the Laupheim-based technicians move off the beaten tracks and devote themselves to something completely unexpected – in this case the Fiat 500. The HAMANN-technicians started with a lot of joy and enthusiasm for the cool little retro sports car and developed the extensive HAMANN sportivo–tuning programme. Striking 17-inch rims and a lively flag pattern optically emphasize the racy character of this little Italian. The strong sound of the HAMANN-sport exhaust system for the 1.4 litre petrol car also underlines this acoustically. A performance optimization for the diesel model, progressive chassis springs and a newly-developed braking system round out the racy appearance and provide a speedy joyride.

The design wheel HM sportivo I stands for trendy mobile appearance and perfect handling. The matt black varnish rim in one piece has a diamond-polished outer edge and is offered in the size 7.0 x 17. HAMANN recommends matching tyres in the sizes 195/40 ZR17 or 215/34 ZR 17 by its technology partner Hankook. A complete wheel-set can be obtained from 1,420 €. The HAMANN-set for lowering chassis leads to a further improvement in handling the car and ensures that the vehicle centre which is made up from four progressively spun springs is lowered by 30mm.

The sport exhaust system which was especially devised for the 1,4 litre petrol car renders a thrilling sonorous sound. The system includes a muffler (from 390 € onwards) with two round end pipes made of high-grade steel (70 mm diameter), a pre-muffler with metal catalyst and a sport fan manifold. All components can also be obtained individually. Also for this model, HAMANN developed a stable sport braking system for improved deceleration values. The set consists of two perforated and ventilated brake discs (diameter 280 x 28mm) at the front axle in connection with red 4-piston fixed yokes and steal flex brake lines. The back axle can be upgraded with brake discs measuring 240 mm in diameter.

The increased performance by HAMANN costs 699 € for the 1,3 Multijet 16V Fiat 500 diesel model. After re-programming the integrated control unit, the motor renders up to 90 hp / 66 kW at 4,000 r.p.m. (series: 75 hp / 55 KW) and a maximum torque of 230 Nm at 1,750 r.p.m.

Audi A4 by Rieger tuning

German based car customizer and bodykit specialist Rieger Tuning has presented a new styling and performance upgrade for the new B8 Audi A4 saloon at this week’s Tuning World Bodensee event in Germany. The Rieger A4 is a saloon redesigned for daily use with a kick and manages to keep the understated good looks of the standard model while also adding a touch of aggression.

This is helped in part by the addition of a new front-lip spoiler, sport side-sills, a custom rear bumper and integrated diffuser plus a set of 20in alloy wheels.
For the mechanical upgrades, engineers chose to focus on improving performance of 3.0L TDI diesel model. Engine output has been increased to a healthy 297hp (up from 240hp in the stocker) and 610Nm of torque, courtesy of a new sports air-filter and stainless steel exhaust plus an ECU upgrade.
Rieger Tuning was founded by Toni Rieger twenty years ago and is based in Eggenfelden, Germany. The tuner is a specialist in creating bodykits for a number of German labels including Mercedes-Benz and BMW as well as Audi.
