Mercedes SLK55 AMG by Brabus

Mercedes-Benz went to great effort to improve the power and efficiency of its SLK range for the 2009 model year facelift but for the guys at German tuner Brabus the output of the standard model was never going to be enough. That’s why for their latest custom kit for the facelifted SLK, Brabus engineers installed a new 6.1L version of the supercharged 5.5L AMG-prepped V8 and added a new aerodynamic bodykit to match.

In addition to the powertrain and aerodynamic enhancements, Brabus also modified the suspension settings, wheels and tires, and the interior. The list of aero mods includes a new front spoiler, custom fender panels and a new rear apron with a bootlid spoiler.
The new 6.1L engine developers a peak output of 445hp (327kW) and 635Nm – up from 360hp (268kW) and 510Nm in the stock model. When combined with Mercedes’ seven speed automatic gearbox and Brabus’ own limited-slip differential the modded SLK will sprint from 0-100km/h in just 4.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 305km/h.
Stopping power comes from six-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 355 mm vented and slotted discs in front and 300 mm discs with four-piston aluminum fixed calipers in the rear. These reside within optional 19in forged alloy wheels and sit on a suspension system lowered up to 30mm.

SpeedART BTR-XS 650 extreme 911 GT2

German tuning house speedART has taken the wraps off its latest mad-Porsche, a heavily boosted version of the already extreme 997 GT2. After going under the knife the car comes out with increased power and torque, custom alloys and suspension upgrades, lifting performance to the levels expected from only the most exotic of supercars. Furthermore speedART offers individual interior design, sport seats, sport steering wheels and special leather or alcantara applications depending on customer requests.

Final numbers for the modified GT2 stand at 650hp and 859Nm of torque. This increase of 120hp and 180Nm over the standard car’s 530hp and 685Nm of torque is possible due to modified VTG turbochargers, a sport exhaust with twin tail pipes, sport catalytic converters, new headers, bigger intercoolers and an optimized Motronic ECU update. The acceleration from 0 – 62mph now takes just 3.2 seconds and the top speed is a staggering 216mph. This makes the speedART GT2 quicker to 60mph than a Ferrari Enzo supercar, and almost as quick in terms of top speed.
The special-edition is dubbed the speedART BTR-XS 650 (which is speedART shorthand for ‘Bi Turbo Racer - Extra Speed with 650hp’) and comes at a cost of €27,500 – plus a 911 GT2 of course.

BMW M3 E92 by Hamann!

Hamann has released its latest performance and styling kit for the E92 BMW M3 Coupe, boosting performance of the high-rev V8 engine as well as adding a lift-reducing bodykit and brake package. The Laupheim-based tuner has been modifying BMW’s since 1986 both for motorsport use and personal individualization of road-going cars, and now this wealth of experience has been put to use for the latest M3 tuning kit.

The first level of tune lifts the standard output of the V8 (420hp and 400Nm) by 20hp and 25Nm of torque. This is achieved by an optimized ECU remap, which also removes the stock car’s speed limiter.
Another performance kit is called the ‘Sportkit HM/M +35’. As its name implies, the modified engine has an additional 35hp and 48Nm. In addition to the ECU remap, this stage of tune also has a stainless steel exhaust system. With the speed limiter now removed the car will reach a top speed of 320km/h.
Improving airflow around the car, Hamann has added front and rear spoilers, new side skirts and a shapely roof spoiler. The final touch to the exterior is a set of one-piece 19in alloy wheels finished with a high-gloss INOX stainless steel lip.
